Andreas Panayi, Professor of the Practice at the Center for Digital Engineering, participated in The 9th China (International) Commercial Aerospace Forum

The topic of the presentation was on the Development of Efficient and Reliable Aerospace Products. Prof. Panayi gave an overview of Skoltech and the Center for Digital Engineering, and shared his industry experience on aerospace product development, emphasizing the need for further research in the field of PLM – to optimize the design cycle time, to launch and to sustain the next efficient and reliable aerospace products. As he stated, “It is easier to move electrons than atoms, in order to enable well-informed cross-disciplinary engineering decisions early on in the design cycle to achieve the optimal product the first time.”

Prof. Panayi invited our colleagues from China to visit Skoltech and continue the discussions in order to find areas of collaboration with the Center for Digital Engineering groups and laboratories. The conference video recordings will be becoming available soon on The 9th China (International) Commercial Aerospace Forum website.
