He presented his lecture entitled “Spatially resolved eigenstrain analysis across the scales: methods, distributions, insights” in which he summarized the progress and discoveries made since the appearance of his 2017 monograph “A Teaching Essay on Residual Stresses and Eigenstrains” (Butterworth-Heinemann, ISBN 978-0-12-810990-8).
The lecture highlighted recent achievements in the use of synchrotron X-ray and electron-ion microscopy for the study of internal stresses in construction, electronic and biomaterials, and was followed by lively discussion with the international audience of leading experts in the field.
The aim of the 3rd International Workshop on "Plasticity, Damage and Fracture" of Engineering Materials is to discuss recent progress in the fields of plasticity, damage, and fracture mechanics.”
Professor Alexander M. Korsunsky, Head of the Hierarchically Structured Materials lab (Skoltech Center for Digital Engineering) was invited speaker at the 3rd International Workshop on Plasticity, Damage and Fracture of Engineering Materials, 4-6 October 2023, İstanbul, Türkiye.
