On February 9 EST, the European Space Agency, in corroboration with NASA, launched the Solar Orbiter Probe. The spacecraft was launched aboard an Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex on Cape Canaveral (Florida, USA). This will be the first mission ever to observe the solar poles.
